How to Set Up a linksys WRT54GS Router

The WRT54GS wireless router is a model of the WRT54G Linksys router that is used in mainly home and consumer environments. You want share your internet connection with multiple computer using this type router then follow the given setup process. When the router will attach with your DSL line, you can connect your computers to the router.

Step1: Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable. Then turn on your computer and open your web browser put 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of your browser .It will access the router control panel.

Step2: Type admin for the password of the router, click ok and then click on setup then basic setup.

Step3: Select a static IP or a dynamic IP, depending on your particular network configuration.

Step4: Click on the save setting then go to the wireless section and then click on wireless settings.

Step5: Select the wireless mode which you want, along with what SSID you want for your wireless network.

Step6: Click on the save setting and to choose security mode and setup a password, go to the wireless security section. Your set up password will be useful when you logon to the wireless network on the router.

Step7: Click on the save setting to connect the router to your internet modem and then restart the router to complete the setup and setup an internet connection to the router.
