How to Connect to a Netgear WNR3500

The Netgear WNR3500 is a router that allows you to connect wireless devices such as laptops, cell phones and multimedia players to the Internet and also helpful for wired connection. The WNR3500 from Netgear is a wireless-N router that includes a four-port Ethernet switch and support for 802.11 b/g and 802.11 n wireless protocols. A wired connection to the router is plug-and-play, but connecting wirelessly will require you to enter your network's SSID (service set identifier) and passkey if you have wireless security enabled.

Wired connection:

Step1: Check the router's status. Confirmed router is turned on and that the Internet port on the back of the router is connected to your modem.

Step2: Plug in an Ethernet cable to one of the four Ethernet ports on the back of the router.

Step3: Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer or other Internet device.

Step4: Repeat this process to connect up to four wired devices.

Wireless connection: 

Step1: Check the "Wireless" LED on the router to ensure that it is lit. If it is not, navigate to www.routerlogin.com on your computer and start the Smart Wizard Setup to configure your wireless network. If you are prompted to log in, enter "admin" as the username and "password" as the password.

Step2: Turn on your wireless Internet device and search for wireless networks. Consult your device's user manual for specific instructions on how to do this.

Step3: Find and select the SSID network name that corresponds to your wireless network.

Step4: Enter the passkey for your network if you have security enabled.
