How to disable the Netgear firewall

If you want to configure the netgear firewall then follow this blog-How to Configure a Netgear Firewall
Step1: Open your Internet browser.
Step2: Type "192.168.0.1" into the address bar of your browser. Then Press "Enter" on your keyboard. It will open Netgear router configuration panel.
Step3: Type your username and password in the appropriate fields for login the panel.
Step4: Select the "Security" option from the navigation menu. And click "Firewall Rules."
Step5: Select the option to "Add" a new rule for inbound traffic.
Step6: Next you will need to input the term “Any” on the section labeled “Inbound Services”. An “Action” drop down box will appear on which you will need to select “Allow always” and then click on “Enabled” to enable it. This will save the new firewall rule settings that you just entered.
These are the simple steps to stop the firewall on the Netgear router. The above mentioned steps and process may differ slightly depending upon the model of router being used.

How to Disable the Netgear DG834G Firewall
If you want to setup netgear router then follow this article-How to Setup Netgear Router.
Step1: open your web browser and type "http://192.168.0.1” to access the Netgear router's admin menu. Type the router's user name and password. If you haven't already changed the settings, enter "admin" for the user name and "password" for the password.
Step2: Click "OK." And then click the "Security" option at the left end of the window, and then select "Firewall Rules." Select the "Add" button underneath the "Inbound" heading.
Step3: Click on the "Any" option from the "Service" list and choose the "Allow Always" option in the "Action" list. Click "Apply" to set the new rule as active.
Step4: Click on the "WAN Setup" option under “Advanced" heading at the left end of the window. Click the check box labeled "Disable Port Scan and DOS protection."
Step5: After completing the all above steps, click on apply button and then logout to disable the Netgear DG835G's firewall.

Wireless routers are quickly becoming an important device. Wireless routers help you connect several computers simultaneously to the internet in one go and that too, wirelessly. A common setting for a network router is firewall configurations. A firewall blocks unauthorized access from the internet to the internal network. The Netgear firewall also allows access to the internal network using port forwarding. This blog states on how to configure a Netgear firewall
Instructions
1. Open web browser, In the address bar enter the IP address for your router. The default IP address for new Netgear routers is "192.168.0.1." Enter your administration password when prompted.
2. Click the "Security" link on the left side of the screen and then click "Services." A new window opens with your current firewall settings. Click the button labeled "Add Custom Service."
3. Enter a name for the new firewall setting. In the drop-down box labeled "Type," select "Any."
4 . Enter a starting and ending port number in the text boxes labeled "Start" and "End." For instance, if this is for website traffic, the start and ending port is 80.
5 . Click the "Apply" button to save your changes. The router's firewall settings are configured for your new service.
